American Red Cross declares national blood crisis, urges Mississippi residents to donate
The American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis with some critical blood types falling below a one-day supply.
While Mississippi is not currently in a blood crisis, the state is experiencing a blood shortage, and the Red Cross says donations are still needed to keep pace with hospital demand.
As patients across the country may already be feeling the impacts of the national crisis, donors are urged to give now to help save lives.
You can make an appointment to donate using the blood donor app, visit redcross.org or call 1-800- Red Cross to schedule your donation.
