American Red Cross Blood drive at the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands

The Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands hasn’t even officially opened yet to house residents, but this premier living retirement home in Gulfport is already going above and beyond to help those in need.

Tomorrow the welcome center at the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the American Red Cross.

This retirement home offers assisted living and memory care for seniors over age 55 and is pre-leasing apartments at its north Gulfport facility right now, but isn’t set to open until this summer.

That’s not stopping this retirement facility from pitching in to host this blood drive at a time when it is needed most due to weather delays and other issues. Marissa Butterfield with the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands said, “Just one person donating can save up to three lives. Now more than ever, especially with what’s going on with COVID, people aren’t able to host these blood drives as much as they normally would, so we are happy to help with our community.”

You can go to the welcome center located just before the entrance of the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands located on Highland Circle, just off Highway 609 and John Ross Road.

To pre-register go to redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code ‘Claiborne Gulfport Highlands.’
