American Foundation of Suicide Prevention hosting ‘Out of the Darkness Walk’
The annual ‘Mississippi Gulf Coast Out of the Darkness Walk’ is back to help raise awareness for the fight for suicide prevention.
The walk is hosted by the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention’s Mississippi Chapter and will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
The walk is one of about 550 walks being held nationwide this year. These walks together are expected to unite more than 300,000 walkers and raise millions for suicide prevention efforts. Area Director Meghan Goldbeck said, “Suicide can be an incredibly isolating tragedy to deal with. So, our event is a place where folks can find connection and support to resources and just find that comradery that is needed, especially if you lost a loved one to suicide.”
