Allen Hyundai Buddy Bag donation

Over the last month, Allen Hyundai and Buddy Bags took donations of hair brushes, pillows, gift cards, and toys to create comfort bags.

Today they were able to donate one hundred comfort bags to the Harrison County Department of Child Protective Services.

Buddy Bags is a nonprofit that provides foster children with a bag of items they can call their own when transitioning into a new home. They also held a corn hole tournament earlier this month to raise additional money for Buddy Bags.

Allen Hyundai Community Outreach Manager Jourdan Hartshorn said, “I am really big on being an advocate for kids for youth and stuff and just for someone to be taken from their home and being placed in foster care and move home to home. It is rough. Most of them live with a garbage bag. They pack the garbage bag and go, but this is a keepsake that they have. It has a hygiene kit. It has coloring books, a teddy bear, and all kinds of cool stuff that they will be happy to have during this time.”
