Alleged pipe bomb explosion in Stone County

One Stone County man suffered injuries to his face and legs and was hospitalized yesterday morning from an alleged pipe bomb explosion.
According to the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, a 9-1-1 call was placed shortly after midnight in regards to a pipe bomb that had exploded. Deputies and EMS responded to the scene at Sunshine Hill Drive in Perkinston where resident Edward Caudill was suffering from cuts and wounds from the alleged explosion and was then airlifted to a hospital.
Captain Ray Boggs said they found destructive device and post blast components at the scene, but is still unclear if it was a pipe bomb.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is now investigating.
