Air Force Secretary Promises No Downsizing in 2015

No downsizing in 2015 for the U.S. Air Force. That was the pledge of Air Force Secretary, Deborah Lee James, when she visited the Columbus Air Force Base. James has been on the job for nearly a year, and she has traveled with the mission to return stability to a quickly shrinking Air Force.

James says, "We have become the smallest Air Force since our beginning in 1947. It has placed strains upon our airmen and so as a result, just recently, or earlier this week, I announced we will not be doing any more involuntary separations in fiscal year 2015."

Secretary James added that taking care of her people is one of three goals she is pursuing. Money always remains a concern and she intends to make every tax dollar count.
