Adrian Peterson traded to Arizona Cardinals

Like any broken relationship, Adrian Peterson’s time with the New Orleans Saints just wasn’t working out. He came to the Big Easy for a fresh start, only to need an even fresher one in less than six months.
First reported by ESPN this morning, Peterson is being traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2018. The move was later confirmed by the Saints.
Looking to revitalize his career, Peterson ended up a forgotten man in New Orleans, but his new home should suit him much better. With David Johnson on the shelf until December following wrist surgery, the Cardinals and their 2.6 yards per carry are desperate for help in the backfield.
Peterson only averaged three yards per carry on his 27 carries with the Black and Gold, gaining just 81 yards on the ground through four games.
The former MVP was signed by the Saints in late April and is now 32-years-old. He spent his first ten NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
