Adding art to Downtown Biloxi

Biloxi just got a little bit more ‘Instagram-able’ with the addition of ten new art murals.

Biloxi Main Street is adding art to its historic downtown with picture perfect art murals on the sides of buildings.

Not only is the artwork beautiful, each mural highlights a piece of Biloxi’s rich history and they are all commissioned by local artists.

If you post pictures of the murals online you can use the hashtag #biloxipublicartproject or #artforthepeople. Biloxi Main Street President Corey Christy said, “People want to see art and they want access to art, but they might not always be comfortable going to art spaces like galleries or museums. So, this way we bring it to them. Several people have commented that they didn’t even know they wanted to see it, but then they do and they love it and support it.”
