Active Shooter Situation Training

Do you know what to do in an active shooter situation?
If not the D’Iberville Police Department encourages you to attend a special training tomorrow evening at city hall.
Tomorrow’s event aims to prepare residents if they are ever faced in an active shooter situation at their home, on the job, or out in the community.
Officers say the training is structured on the “avoid, deny and defend” strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center.
Shannon Nobles with D’Iberville PD said, “We do fire safety all the time. We do fire drills all the time. It’s important for us to have maybe a personal plan or a family plan or a business plan for the worst thing that can happen like a tragedy of an active shooter.”
The training will be held at D’Iberville City Hall. It starts at 6 p.m. and will last about two hours. It’s completely free to the public, ages 18 and up.
