Accelerating the recovery of the gaming industry
Accelerating the recovery of the gaming industry is the focus of the American Gaming Industry for 2021 according to the group’s leader.
Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, delivered remarks today on the future of gaming’s recovery, policy developments for gaming in Washington, D.C. and the AGA’s priorities for 2021.
Miller cited vaccine distribution, responsible reopening, and consumer confidence as reasons for optimism in the coming years during the online presentation among other things. “Legal sports betting continues to break records every month, and I believe that will continue into 2021. If the sports betting market grows just half the rate it did in 2020, Americans will legally bet on more than $25-billion this year. In order to make this happen, our efforts to fight illegal sportsbooks becomes even more important.”
According to AGA research, one in three American adults plan to visit a casino in 2021, the highest rate since the AGA began tracking last March.
