A.J. Holloway Sports Complex Opens to Public

After a long wait, Biloxi residents will finally be able to get use out of the A.J Holloway Sports Complex daily.
For months, residents have been asking for the sportsplex to be open daily but due to staffing, the Parks and Recreation Department have only been able to open it to the public on days where leagues were scheduled to play. But that’s about to change, starting Monday the sports complex will be open for public use every weekday from 3:30 until 8 p.m.
Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel said, “One of the reasons that Mayor Holloway wanted that facility to be built was for the public’s enjoyment. Mayor Gilich said let’s make that happen. We’ve invested about $4-5 million in this facility; let’s make sure people get the most out of it.”
And while the sports complex will be open to the public, the Parks and Recreation Department is asking residents to call their department ahead of time if they plan on using the complex so they can staff the fields with more workers.
