The Ultimate Fall Festival to Attend in 2016: Zonta Club of Pascagoula – 39th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival, October 1, 2016

Each year the Zonta Festival brings in crowds in of 10,000 and 15,000 people to downtown Pascagoula. With zeal and enthusiasm, members are working to make sure this year is the most successful year to date! On October 1st, the downtown streets of Pascagoula will be lined with the very best in arts, pottery, woodwork, treats and crafts of all kinds! Businesses will have bargain sales and attendees will come from all along the Gulf Coast for this wonderful event. On Magnolia Street, the aroma of delicious foods will fill the air for the very best choices of coast cuisine. Unique items can always be found! The list includes everything from gumbo, to BBQ and even Asian dishes.
In addition, festival goers can enjoy live entertainment featuring two stages. The music will include local talent, bands, dancing and other popular groups to name a few. The free children’s area is always great for family fun, which historically has included a bounce house, pony rides and many other activities too numerous to list. A free shuttle is also provided for convenience and there will be plenty of free parking. The festival hours for sales begin at 9 am and end at 5 pm.
The specific date of the 1st Saturday of October was adopted in 1977, soon after the Club was chartered. More than just a festival, this annual event serves as Zonta of Pascagoula’s largest fundraiser for the many service projects for our local community, which include our ongoing support of Domestic Violence Center Adrian’s House, Gulf Coast Center for Non-Violence, Advocates for Freedom, Promiss, Literacy Council, Home of Grace for Women, C A S A, Nursing Home Projects, and Relay for Life. Zonta of Pascagoula also supports numerous scholarship efforts to include: Explosion of Excellence, Books for Reading Program, Z-Club of Resurrection High School, MGCCC Student Nursing (Louise Black Memorial), Jean McCool Memorial for Education, Business – Jane Klausman, Young Women in Public Affairs Award and Ellen Wheeler Memorial Scholarship for Art Education. The Zonta Club of Pascagoula works hard to keep the important mission of “Empowering Women Through Service and Advocacy”. The club is a member of Zonta International with clubs in 67 countries and 30,000 members worldwide. Our dedicated members make a valuable difference in the lives of women and children. Zonta Club of Pascagoula is making an effort to bring more awareness around our mission and the services that we provide in the community. Our festival is key to these efforts!
Vendor applications will be taken until September 15th. Last year, most vendors per-registered for their spaces in record numbers and we anticipate vendors doing that again this year! Also, the annual festival T-shirt will be for sale as well to take home as collectable from this year’s 39th annual festival.
