Construction underway for Bayou La Croix boat launch in Bay St. Louis

Construction is finally underway for the Bayou La Croix boat launch located just off of Highway 603, next to the Bayou La Croix Bridge.

When the boat launch is completed, there will be a 35-foot-wide boat ramp and an ADA accessible bathroom trailer which can be moved when severe storms threaten the area.

The project has been in the works for years. It began when the city purchased the property formerly known as ‘the cave,’ which privately operated as a bar, bait shop, and boat launch for decades.

Ward 6 Councilman Josh DeSalvo is thrilled to have the project underway and believes it will be a great amenity for residents in the bay and across the Coast. “One of the beauties of Bay St. Louis and one of the things making it grow so quick is the water. People come here for the water. They want to fish. They want to tube. They want to enjoy their weekends out here on the water and get away from the big city life.”

Construction is expected to be complete in 60 to 90 days.
