St. Clare Seafood Festival draws a crowd
St. Clare’s Seafood Festival in Waveland made a comeback this weekend and variety was the name of the game at the festival.
Between dizzying fair rides and refreshing beer and seafood, the sprawling get-together had a little something for everyone.
The money raised from this festival goes straight to St. Clare Catholic Church which invests in the community.
That will help some kids pay for catholic school, go toward church infrastructure, and so on.
Organizer John Pucheu was there Saturday and after a year of planning, he was glad to see it all come together. “Last year we were the first fair to open after COVID and we had a tremendous turnout. This year people are coming back. It’s just, the car show is proof of that, the number of people that come out, the amount of food that we’re serving. If you set up and look around, there’s people everywhere. And there’s been people here since 7 o’clock this morning. So, it’s really turned out really, really well. Once the fair starts, the fair runs itself. All’s I do is if someone needs something, I go take care of it, and I get to sit back and enjoy everything going on.”
The festival was a three-day affair that ran Friday through late last night with music throughout.
