Fatal accident in Pearl River County

A Poplarville man is dead after crashing into a freightliner on Saturday.

Shortly after 10:20 Saturday morning, a 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by Devyn James Killon, was traveling north and ran into the back of the 18-wheeler.

Upon arriving, it appeared a 2019 freightliner was stopped in the northbound lane due to standing water on the interstate. The restrained driver of the Corolla was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the freightliner was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt.

The crash is still under investigation.
