Make-A-Wish grants wish for 14-year-old Gulfport boy
The Make-A-Wish Foundation honored volunteers and donors during their annual breakfast and they also had a very special surprise for attendees.
During the breakfast, they granted the wish of K.J. McClain, a 14-year-old boy from Gulfport battling brain cancer.
He was diagnosed over a year ago and just finished chemotherapy. He is currently in remission.
K.J. loves playing video games and he was gifted a brand-new PC, gaming console, and other items to go along with his new devices.
K.J. had no idea that his wish was going to be granted during the breakfast.
This was also a big surprise for the attendees, showing them how meaningful their contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation are. K.J.’s mother, Jalisa McClain said, “I am so happy for him because he’s been wanting this PC for a while and for him to be granted without knowing is amazing. He’s happy. I’m happy. We’re all happy.”
K.J. said, “I’m doing good. I just got done with chemo and granted my wish. Now, I just gotta wait until I get better.”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has 36 children on the Coast that are still waiting to have their wish granted.
