April 28th declared ‘Vernon Stewart Day’ in Biloxi
It’s Vernon Stewart Day in Biloxi.
Earlier today, Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich made the proclamation declaring April 28th as Vernon Stewart Day, honoring Stewart’s efforts in forming a partnership with the City of Biloxi and surrounding communities to serve local veterans.
Among other accomplishments, the City of Biloxi celebrated Stewart’s part in creating a monthly news program highlighting Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care Services programs and employees.
Stewart is pursuing another career outside his role as chief of community and public affairs with Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care Services. “It was a great sentiment by our partners at the City of Biloxi. One of the first things I did when I came to the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System was to reach out to the community and establish relationships. The City of Biloxi was some of the first folks I reached out to. We’ve done a lot of great work at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. The community here in the City of Biloxi, the surrounding areas have been extremely helpful, extremely, extremely passionate about the veterans in our community, as they should be.”
As a veteran himself, Stewart says he knows how important it is to have the kind of love and support that is provided to veterans on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
