Biloxi Mayoral Election

A list of ten candidates, three interim mayors, months of campaigning and mudslinging on social media finally come to an end on May 12, 2015 and Biloxi will have a new mayor. Longtime business man FoFo Gilich or Harrison County supervisor Windy Swetman will be the city’s newest mayor after 22 years.
“It’s been a great campaign process; I appreciate all the volunteers, all the phone calls that were made, everybody in South Mississippi. Because this race has been…South Mississippi has been involved in it and I just want to thank the people of Biloxi that came out and voted,” said Windy Swetman.
“We’re just walking and talking, you know visiting everyone at the polls,” Fofo Gilich said, “we’ve got a great team, I think the A team, no question about it. So I’m just pleased to have my family and extended family and all my Biloxi family together.”
Those supporting Swetman say it’s what he can bring to the table that makes him suited to be mayor of Biloxi. Voters supporting Gilich say it’s his experience and leadership that make him fit for the job.
Two different candidates, with two strong sets of supports who believe their candidate can deliver the leadership Biloxi needs.
