King’s Kitchen 6th anniversary

The King’s Kitchen has been serving their Bay St. Louis community six days a week for six years. Today they celebrated.

King’s Kitchen services include food and clothing. Eventually they want to add shelter as well. They also give out tents, pillows, blankets, and other necessities for the homeless.

Volunteers of all ages came out for the special anniversary meal to serve and that’s one way this kitchen is different. They do not have cafeteria lines like most food kitchens; here they are seated and served just like they would be at a restaurant.

With Thanksgiving just days away, they took today to reflect on how blessed they are to be able to make others feel welcomed. Kings Kitchen Outreach Pastor Connie Lyons said, “It’s very special because a lot of people are cold. They’re lonely. They don’t have family and so we are here to provide that family atmosphere especially on Thanksgiving Day.”

Central Bible Church Pastor Mike Ramsey said, “I’m really surprised and blessed to see how it has grown. The Lord has blessed us. He’s provided everything that we need and I’m looking forward to many more years.”

The King’s Kitchen will be open on Thursday for Thanksgiving from 11:30 to 1 with Silver Slipper Casino providing the meal. If you would like to volunteer you can call the church at 228-467-0529.
