Man dies in mobile home fire in Kiln

One man is dead following a mobile home fire in Hancock County.

Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk says the body of a 72-year-old man was found on the steps of his trailer near the Kiln after it was destroyed by a fire Friday night.

Faulk says officials believe the man may have fallen while trying to escape the fire. Officials believe they know the identity of the man, but are waiting on a DNA test to confirm his identity.

Officials say the roof collapsed before firefighters arrived.

Someone warned that a resident may have been inside, but firefighters were unable to enter the blazing home.
