Burglary, breaking and entering arrest in Vancleave

Thirty-eight year-old Gretchen Fairley is in jail after she was caught stealing from a home in Vancleave.

When deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene, they saw the homeowner’s brother-in-law blocking the driveway to prevent Fairley from leaving in her vehicle. Deputies found two bags filled with jewelry and other stolen items outside of the home.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says deputies also confiscated drugs from Fairley’s wallet. Fairley is charged with burglary, breaking and entering, disorderly conduct, and simple possession of a controlled substance.

Investigators are also checking to see if Fairley is connected to any other burglaries in the same area.
