Southport Line Artist of the Month: Sam Stolte

Biloxi restaurant Southport Line is not only a popular hub for good food, but now it’s a place to go to see local artwork.

Sam Stolte has been named artist of the month. Customers can go see his artwork on the walls of the restaurant for the entire month of August.

Southport Line Owner Curtis Schmidt says they’ve featured artist of the month since February and it’s a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their work.

Stolte calls his art ‘narrative figuration’ which he says is art based on stories. “It’s great to show it here because there’s a lot of people that wouldn’t normally go to art galleries. It’s kind of, ya know, tapping into other people that wouldn’t normally see it. I just try and do what appeals to me in hopes that other people will like it and that’s the best that I can do really.”
