National Vietnam War Veterans Day
On this day 49 years ago, the last U.S. troops were withdrawn from Vietnam.
Today is National Vietnam War Veterans Day. The objective is to thank and honor our Vietnam veterans for their service on behalf of the nation.
As a way to say thank you to our veterans, the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum offered them free admission until the museum closes at 4 this afternoon.
The museum encourages all to come and view their Vietnam Era collectables. Francisco Gonzales with the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum said, “Learning is what it is all about. This is an educational museum. When the Vietnam veterans come here today, I hope the other visitors will listen to them and hear stories about what it is like to be in Vietnam and fight.”
The museum plans on adding a Vietnam War exhibit to its second flood once funding is secured for the expansion.
