West Harrison seniors are walking back to grade school
Seniors from West Harrison High School walked the halls of their old elementary and middle schools to inspire students.
Two hundred seniors took a trip down memory lane, reuniting with former teachers and encouraging students to stay in school and graduate.
One group of students went to Lyman Elementary and then North Gulfport Middle School. The other half went to Lizana Elementary. Afterwards, they stopped by West Wortham Middle School.
Walking old stomping grounds made some students realize just how fast time flies. Senior Jada Ashley said, “It brought back a lot of memories because I saw old teachers that I knew. I was like ‘oh my gosh. I can’t believe I’m actually graduating this year.’ Just about seven years ago, I was in these classrooms. So, it was really new.”
Senior Cathy Necaise said, “It inspires them to want to do better. They see us that much closer to achieving what we want to achieve. They’re like ‘hey, I should do that, too.’”
Jada tells News 25 it was really cool to go to Lyman Elementary just to see her little brother cheering while she walked through the halls.
