Walmart robbery in Waveland

Waveland police are on the lookout for a suspect who stole a backpack from Walmart and then proceeded to rob the Woodforest Bank located inside the store.

According to Chief David Allen, around 2:50 this afternoon, a small white sedan pulled into the Walmart entrance. A black male wearing a red hoodie and white long pants walked through Walmart when he shoplifted a white book bag. He then went to one of the tellers at the Woodforest Bank inside the store and indicated to the teller that he had a weapon. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then left the store in a white sedan with another person driving.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator Matt Sekinger at 228-255-9191. Chief Allen also says that a Walmart in Picayune was also robbed today by suspects with a similar description.
