Help feed the homeless

Around this time of year, the Salvation Army starts to see a shortage in food donations for their food pantry, leaving homeless people with little to no food to survive for the weekend.
Every Friday, the Salvation Army provides a snack pack that includes three meals for Saturday and Sunday, but their shelves are turning bare and running low on food to provide for the homeless.
On average, the area command serves 200 snack packs a month and are in need of any and all foods, preferably canned food with pull top lids and snacks to take on the go. Public Relations Director Morgan Shiyou said, “This is all we have left for this weekend for Friday’s snack pack to give out and we need pop top items, specifically so they can take these and eat them on the go, don’t really need to prepare them in the kitchen, just something they can have.”
The Salvation Army is always accepting donations at their area command center located on 22nd Street in Gulfport.
