Government Street to close for St. Patrick’s Day festivities

Some aldermen are viewing the opening of Government Street during the Ocean Springs St. Patricks’ Day festivities as a public safety issue. This morning, the board of aldermen ruled to close Government Street for the St. Patrick’s Day activities.
The plan is to close the street between Washington Avenue and Russell Avenue at 6 p.m. A notice would go to cars parked in the area to move their vehicles. Added police will be present.
