Blue Crew vs. D’Iberville Police Department

Tonight the Gulfport Police Department’s Blue Crew took to the court for the second time.
Their first game was an exhibition game against high schoolers from their community. That game drew plenty of attention. This time, D’Iberville Police Department joined in on the fun.
Game two featured two teams made up of officers and young community members facing off in a friendly game in an effort to build a bridge between law enforcement agencies and the youth on the Gulf Coast.
The games are all held in good fun, but the competition definitely gets heated. Sergeant Damon McDaniel with Gulfport PD said, “It’s gonna be one of the biggest whippins’ this kid has ever gotten, but we’re gonna have a great time doing it.”
Sergeant Joshua Bromen with Gulfport PD said, “We’re all very competitive whether it be at work or here. We’ve kind of anticipated and they heard it through the grapevine that ‘hey I think Gulfport is up to this’ and we’re excited.”
Steven Ramsey with the D’Iberville Police Department said, “Tear these walls down and reiterate the message to the young people that are coming up that we are not the bad guys, we are here for you. If you need us, call us, no matter.”
Unfortunately for D’Iberville, Sgt. McDaniel’s prediction was correct as the Blue Crew won the game. The final score was 58-34.
