Harrison County Officer Won’t Face Charges

A Mississippi grand jury unanimously found that a Harrison County sheriff deputy had no criminal conduct after shooting a man in June 2016.
The investigation revolved around the June 26th shooting of James Epperson. Epperson was shot after officials say he fired at a patrol car responding to a call. The deputy returned fire and was able to apprehend him. Epperson was taken to a local hospital for his injuries and was later released and taken to Harrison County Jail.
The grand jury found that there was no criminal conduct for the officer and his actions were appropriate.
