St. Patrick High School gathers in prayer in response to abortion hearing

As arguments are heard in Washington today, St. Patrick High School took to prayer.

Students rotated and took turns praying in response to the Supreme Court hearing arguments in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

Director of Religious Studies and teacher Terry Creel says it is an optimistic turn of events on the matter.

Like the students, Creel says he’s praying for what he believes could be a positive outcome. Creel says St. Patrick High School students and staff find comfort and hope when they come together in prayer. “Our students value going to the chapel in adoration and the more we connect with God, everything else flows from that. So, we’re pro-life people from the womb to the tomb. We believe the Ten Commandments are commandments, not suggestions and we shall not murder. We’re praying that with the Supreme Court justices, the lord and the blessed mother will soften their heart and that they will give us a good decision, whether a complete overturning or some further restrictions.”

Some students from St. Patrick will participate in the March for Life in Washington, D.C. next month.
