Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum hosting Rail Fest this weekend
All aboard to the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum for their second annual Rail Fest.
During Rail Fest you’ll be able to view over 32,000 square feet of train displays. There will be vendor displays from train clubs across the South including Florida, Louisiana, and Alabama.
It’s a fun event for the family that allows the more than 50 members of the museum’s club to show off and answer questions about the displays they have built. Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum Marketing Director Katherine Sutton said, “This is hours and hours, actually years of labor-intensive work for these guys. Some of them come literally every day. If you look really closely you see trees and little animals then just to lay the track and electrical work. It’s really amazing when you talk to the guys and they tell you what they do.”
Rail Fest will be taking place this Saturday from 9 to 5 and Sunday from 10 to 3. The event is at 615 Pass Road in Gulfport and admission is $10 for adults and $2 for children.
