New high-tech go kart track speeding into Biloxi
A new go-karting venue headed full speed to Biloxi is on track to open just in time for spring break.
Construction workers are paving the way for Finishline Performance Karting. The new karting venue will have a two-track design that business partners say will be unique to any other go-kart track in the United States. The go-kart track is being built on the same property where Slippery Sam’s stood for nearly 30 years before Hurricane Katrina.
The managers for the race track just touched down in Biloxi yesterday. Finishline Performance Karting Manager Colby Yardley said, “The track will be really unique and good for the community because they can come and have a good time and have some family fun. They’re more like racing-style kart. Top speeds will be up to 50 MPH on the adult senior karts and 25 MPH on the junior karts so it’s an open wheel experience which makes it feel a lot more racy.”
The go-karting venue is accepting job applications. Anyone interested can search Finishline Performance Karting on Facebook. The track is planned to open March 1st.
