As the former SEC Pitcher of the Year, Mississippi State alum Ethan Small is used to being the best. So why change when he’s one step away from getting to the bigs?
Today, the former Bulldog was named the Milwaukee Brewers Robin Yount Winner going to the organization’s top minor league pitcher.
Small started the 2021 season with the Biloxi Shuckers going 2-2 with a 1.96 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 41-and-a-third innings.
In his MGM Park debut on May 15th, Small pitched five no-hit innings as a part of the Shuckers’ first-ever nine-inning no-hitter.
At the time of his promotion to Triple A Nashville, the crafty southpaw led the Double-A South in strikeouts and was fourth in ERA and batting average against.
