Bays And Bayous Symposium Biloxi

From thoughts to action restoration on the Gulf Coast: that’s the theme and goal of the 2016 Bays and Bayous Symposium. The event being held at the Coast Coliseum brings together scientists and restoration practitioners every two years to give presentations about the new discoveries they have made. Their hope is to put these new findings into action and start to truly discover how to rebuild the Coast while also making sure resources used to restore the Coast are used in the best way possible.
Director for the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium Ladon Swann said, “There’s a need to make sure that we do the best that we can with those resources and part of that is to continue to support the research that really leads to the discovery of some of the technologies that are used for restoration.”
Executive Director of the Department of Marine Resources Jamie Miller said, “It brings a lot of expertise and scientists, students, professionals come here to talk about restoration and things that are going on not only in America, but around the world.”
The symposium will wrap up Thursday afternoon.
