Turkeys for Law Enforcement

Several Jackson County business owners banded together to put a turkey on the tables of those who otherwise may have had to go without and even had a few to give out to local law enforcement.
The Gulf Coast Hispanic Business Association reached out to several local churches to find families who were in need. Several families received a voucher and stopped by Latino Tax Service today to pick up their Thanksgiving dinner staple.
Two hundred and thirty five turkeys went out to local families, 65 of which went into the hands of each Pascagoula police officer. Lazaro Rovira with Rovira Team Realty said, “There’s a lot of families out there that are struggling. Just the thought of that makes me very sad so if I could donate a turkey to make their Thanksgiving special is a very small price to pay. All the negative publicity that’s going around with police officers, we felt it was very important to show them how much we love them and appreciate everything they do for our community every single day.”
The Gulf Coast Hispanic Business Association is a non-profit organization of local Hispanic businesses.
