Developments in Stone County Incident
New developments are surfacing regarding the allegations that a white Stone County football player tied a rope around a black teammate’s neck.
According to our media partner the Sun Herald, they spoke to several students last night following the prayer vigil in Wiggins regarding the incident. Several players on the team are claiming the incident many are calling a hate crime was actually a “prank gone wrong” and the claims of a noose being used are being misconstrued.
Several students told the Sun Herald the locker room incident involved a jump rope, not a rope tied in a noose, and there was no malicious intent behind it.
