Giving Back to Kids in the Community

Kids from throughout the community of Moss Point received free school supplies, hygiene kits and other surprises.
The Keeper Organization set up this event to encourage kids to recognize opportunities and to show support for the younger members of the community. The organization operates in honor of Earlie Jimerson.
News 25 spoke with Jimerson’s granddaughter about the importance of having a positive impact on the community. “We started this organization Keepers, which is Kids Education Empowerment Program, to reach out into the community and better help the community. So that’s kind of what started us out and we’re continuing this in her legacy. It’s a legacy thing for us,” said Shonna Johnson.
Shades of Elegance is the name of another organization which participated in the event, promoting empowerment for the young women in the community.
