Picayune youth minister sentenced for sexual abuse of a child

A former Picayune youth minister was sentenced for sexual contact with a 15-year-old.
Thirty-six year-old David Thorne was sentenced to 25 years to serve for one count of sexual battery of a juvenile and one count of touching a child for lustful purposes. Investigators found that two incidents occurred after church youth events in a church van. The investigation revealed that the minister and child used Kik messenger to privately communicate and send photos.
