Feeding the Gulf Coast chef challenge

It’s the first ever chef challenge in Mississippi and it’s an event that’s all for a good cause.
Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Chef Challenge is a fundraiser that brings together some of the area’s most celebrated chefs and restaurants for an evening full of food and drinks while they compete to win best dish of the night.
This helps advocate Hunger Action Month to bring awareness and educate the public about the issue of hunger. President/CEO of Feeding the Gulf Coast Cathy Pope said, “There’s many reasons people are struggling with hunger. Our mission is to just make sure that people who are struggling with hunger are fed, especially our children, you know they’re vulnerable, our seniors, very vulnerable population. So, we’re just really trying to make sure that we’re targeting those populations so that they are not struggling with hunger and they don’t go hungry. Kids don’t go to bed hungry at night.”
The event had over 250 participants, 11 chefs, and 18 different dishes for the fundraiser.
