Gulf Coast Play Therapy

Play therapy is a type of therapy for young children to express their feelings and emotions.
Today, the Gulf Coast Play Therapy Clinic opened its doors as the newest play therapy clinic in Gulfport. Children will use the toys in the clinic as therapists say toys are words and play is language.
From childhood trauma to lasting effects caused by a hurricane or storm damage to more standard therapy involving bullying or neglect, the clinic sees children for play therapy from ages three to 12. Gulf Coast Play Therapy Co-Owner Infanta White said, “With kids, it’s hard to use talk and say what’s going on in life so when they have a chance to see what’s going in life, it’s beneficial. It’s important too to be able to catch what could possibly be wrong with a child before they get into adulthood.”
The therapy clinic also serves adolescents and adults of any age, but specializes in children’s play therapy.
