Hancock High student recognized as 2026 Presidential Scholar

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Three Mississippi students have been named as 2026 Presidential Scholars, including one from the Coast.

Bryson Soffra of Hancock High School takes that honor.

The Department of Education announced the selection of 161 students in total.

This honor recognizes the student’s achievements in academics, the arts, as well as career and technical education.

Each member will receive an engraved presidential scholar medallion.
