Quiet through Friday, rain chances creep up this weekend
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi
Tonight, we’ll see partly cloudy skies, with lows near 55 degrees and light northeast winds.
Tuesday through Thursday, we’ll enjoy mostly sunny skies, with highs in the upper 70s and overnight lows in the mid 50s. By Friday, we’ll warm to the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will generally stay light, shifting between northeast and southeast throughout the week.
Our forecast changes slightly on Saturday as rain chances start to increase. We could see a few showers during the morning, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Highs will stay near 80 degrees though, so we’ll still get some sunshine through most of the day. We’ll keep a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast Saturday night, too.
Looking ahead to Sunday and Monday, we’ll return to mostly sunny skies, with highs near 81 degrees and overnight lows will settle in the mid 60s.
