Officer Involved Shooting
A St. Martin man is in surgery after an officer involved shooting this afternoon.
Sheriff Deputies arrived to find home owner Bob Baker sitting in his yard with a pistol. Deputies asked Baker to lower his weapon. He then pointed it at the deputies, who then fired and shot.
He is currently in surgery at Ocean Springs Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is still gathering evidence at the scene, while the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting, as they do with all officer involved shootings.
