Jackson County Coroner, Health Department offices evacuated following bomb threat
The offices of the Jackson County Coroner and Jackson County Health Department were evacuated Thursday morning after a bomb threat involving a reported explosive device under a vehicle.
Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd told WXXV the evacuation took place around 10:30 a.m. as a precaution while authorities responded to the threat.
According to Lynd, the threat stemmed from a call reporting a bomb under a vehicle near the offices. Emergency responders evacuated the buildings while the situation was investigated.
Lynd said the buildings have since been cleared. The Jackson County Services Complex was not evacuated and was not affected by the incident. No injuries were reported.
