Pass Christian Fire Department mourns the loss of Retired Fire Chief Richard Marvil

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Pass Christian Fire Department is mourning the loss of Retired Fire Chief Richard Marvil.

Chief Marvil began his service with Pass Christian in 1985, being appointed the rank of chief on February 1, 1999.

He served in that role for a decade before retiring in January 2009.

Pass Christian Fire says he led the department through some of the most difficult years, including Hurricane Katrina and the recovery efforts.

They end by saying his years of service, leadership, and dedication will be remembered.
