Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the forecast for south Mississippi

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely after 2 a.m., and some areas could pick up a quarter to half an inch of rain. Temperatures will stay mild, with lows around 76.

Friday will bring another round of scattered showers and storms. We could see a few breaks of sunshine, but rain chances remain around 60% throughout the day. Highs will reach around 88 degrees, with locally higher rainfall totals possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday looks like another fairly wet day, with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms and highs near 89. Sunday will be a little drier, but a few afternoon showers and storms are still possible, with highs near 90.

Heading into next week, temperatures climb into the lower 90s. Monday and Tuesday look mostly sunny with a few afternoon storms possible, while rain chances increase again by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will generally stay in the mid-70s.
