Brothers charged with armed robbery of store in Picayune

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)-Two men are behind bars after an armed robbery at a Picayune convenience store early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded just after midnight to Petro Plus on Memorial Boulevard after a reported robbery at knife-point.

The suspects fled before officers arrived, but were quickly identified as brothers Rickey Smith Jr. and James Smith.

Police say the brothers later returned to Rickey’s home, where officers arrested them on armed robbery charges.

Additional charges are also pending in this case.
