Mississippi Department of Education launches ‘classroom to career’ network
The Mississippi Department of Education has launched a new statewide initiative to help students connect what they learn in school to their future.
The Mississippi Classroom to Career Network gives schools a roadmap for helping students explore careers from kindergarten through high school.
It starts with career awareness in the early grades and builds toward career exploration, job preparation, and hands-on work-based learning in high school.
State education leaders say the goal is to ensure every student graduates with a clear path to college, a career, or the workforce.
The initiative also expands career and technical education, individual success plans for students, and classroom resources for teachers.
