Mayor Ready to Beautify Biloxi

City officials are hopeful big bucks will soon be spent helping take Biloxi’s waterfront to the next level.
Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich wants the City Council to ask for nearly $15 million in tidelands funds to help better the city.
From a boardwalk along Highway 90 allowing visitors to walk from Debuys Road to the I-110 Bridge to expanding small craft harbor, the plans Mayor Gilich has builds on the plans set forth by former Mayor and current City Attorney Gerald Blessey decades ago. “It’s those kinds of chains of amenities: pedestrian access, boardwalks, piers, restaurants, music venues, museums, so connect them all. For instance, on the Point Cadet area to connect from the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum all the way down to the seafood museum but also along the shoreline so you can walk along the shore,” said Blessey.
A large part of this plan falls right in line with the creation of the East Biloxi transportation loop.
