Police pursuit leads to officer-involved shooting on Highway 90 in Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — A police pursuit that began in Gulfport led to an officer-involved shooting Wednesday on Highway 90 in Biloxi, according to Biloxi Police.
Authorities said Gulfport Police were pursuing a man driving a U-Haul truck when the chase crossed into Biloxi. Biloxi Police Department units then joined the pursuit.
The chase came to an end when the driver pulled into a boat dock area near Treasure Bay Casino on Highway 90. According to Biloxi Police, a shootout occurred between the driver and responding officers.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the suspect or additional details about what led to the pursuit. The circumstances surrounding the officer-involved shooting remain under investigation.
